About Us

The Origin Story

Wildtrack Nordic has been three decades in the making. Jacko and Tom’s journey started while learning to ski on the picturesque trails above Nordseter, Norway in the early ’90s with the British Army. Those first glides changed everything: Jacko and Tom went on to train full-time as biathletes (cross-country skiing + target shooting) and represented Team GB at the Winter Olympics between 2006 and 2014.

Today, we’ve brought that journey full circle. We’re friends turned founders who still love being on skis and we’ve built Wildtrack Nordic to share that feeling. Our mission is to deliver premium, meticulously crafted cross-country skiing holidays that are designed for adventurers seeking authenticity.

Our core values are to; provide quality hotels in idyllic locations, to bring unrivalled expertise and dedication, to ensure our customers have the best experience possible, to foster a community of like-minded people who love spending time in nature and to develop people who want to experience competitive racing.

It’s personal for us: the same curiosity, joy and pursuit of excellence that shaped our own careers now shape every guest’s experience. From your very first time on skis all the way to completing some of the best ski events on the planet, we have you covered.

Our team is small, and it will stay that way. As Wildtrack Nordic grows, we are hand-picking exceptional guides and coaches who share our values and bring the warmth, expertise and personal attention that define every Wildtrack Nordic holiday.

Meet The Team

Jason Sklenar MBE, MSc

Jason is a two-time Biathlon Winter Olympian, having competed at the 1992 and 2006 Winter Olympic Games. Since retiring as an athlete, he has built an extensive international career in cross-country skiing and biathlon coaching, supporting skiers from their earliest development through to international competition.

His senior roles have included GB Biathlon Team Manager, Olympic Coach and National Team Coach for New Zealand Biathlon. In 2006, he was awarded an MBE for his commitment and services to sport.

Jason holds an MSc in Exercise and Sports Nutrition and combines his coaching experience with expertise in physiology, training and performance. At Wildtrack Nordic, his calm, clear and approachable style helps skiers build confidence, understand their technique and make meaningful progress.

“For me, good coaching is about meeting people and making the complex feel simple. When guests understand what they are doing and why, they build confidence, make meaningful progress and find even greater enjoyment in the sport.”

Lee Jackson taking part in Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.

Lee Jackson

Lee-Steve Jackson is one of the UK’s most accomplished biathletes, with a career that spans two Olympic Games, multiple World Championships and almost two decades representing Great Britain on the international circuit. Known for his technical precision and endurance, he has trained and competed on some of the world’s most iconic trails.

Beyond competition, Lee has dedicated himself to coaching and education. As a BASI (British Association of Snowsport Instructors) Nordic Trainer, he develops the next generation of cross-country ski instructors while bringing world-class coaching to athletes of all levels. His unique blend of Olympic experience, teaching expertise and passion for the sport ensures every skier he works with benefits from both knowledge and inspiration.

Lee is an avid windsurfer and in the summer months finds himself on the South coast teaching windsurfing and out playing on the water in his spare time.

“My real passion comes from being part of peoples journey. Taking people from learning a new skill, through to completing their personal challenge.”

Spence Hogg Alpine ski racing.

Spence Hogg

Spence’s relationship with cross-country skiing began in the early 1990s while serving as a Mountain and Arctic Warfare Instructor, when skiing was an essential skill for travelling and operating in demanding winter environments. Over the three decades since, he has competed in cross-country skiing, biathlon and Alpine ski racing, achieving some of his strongest results in downhill and other speed events. Cross-country skiing, however, has always remained his true passion.

A BASI-qualified instructor in both Nordic and Alpine skiing, Spence has coached everyone from complete beginners to competitive athletes who have gone on to race internationally and represent Great Britain. His supportive and personal approach combines sound technique with confidence, enjoyment and a genuine love of time spent in the mountains.

Away from skiing, Spence has represented Great Britain in both skydiving and BASE jumping—experiences that have reinforced the importance of preparation, precision, resilience and remaining calm under pressure.

“Great skiing comes from combining sound technique with confidence and enjoyment. I want every skier to progress while enjoying every moment they spend on snow.”

Tom Clemens competing in 20km biathlon in 2006 Winter Olympics.

Tom Clemens

Tom’s passion for cross-country skiing was ignited in the early 1990’s. After joining the British Army he was sent to Norway to learn to ski and fell in love with it. He quickly established himself in the GB Biathlon Team and began racing on the World Cup circuit in 1998, after a few years spent cutting his teeth on the European circuit.

His racing career culminated in selection and competing at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games. Tom retired from racing after the Olympics and returned to his military career, serving for another 20 years in a variety of roles. He progressed to the rank of Major after commissioning in 2015.

In 2025, he left the Army to begin Wildtrack Nordic, confident that the company’s ethos and values will inspire people to fall in love with the sport of cross-country skiing just as he did.

“For me, Wildtrack Nordic is about giving something back - to the sport, the outdoors and the people who want to experience both. It’s simple, honest, and it makes me happy.”
