Learn to Skate Ski FAQs

In our experience, most people benefit from learning Classic Skiing before progressing to Skate Skiing, as it helps develop the balance, coordination and weight transfer skills that underpin both techniques. However, guests with experience in activities such as ice skating, roller skating or ski touring may find it easier to begin directly with skate skiing. If you're unsure which holiday is right for you, please contact us before booking.

That's our goal. By the end of the week, most guests can confidently skate ski on gentle to moderate terrain, control their speed and enjoy longer journeys on prepared trails.

Skate skiing is generally more physically demanding than classic skiing at the beginner's level, but the pace remains supportive and progressive. Expect around four hours of skiing each day, with regular breaks, coaching input and plenty of opportunities to recover and refuel.
