Lysebu is a historic boutique hotel located right in Holmenkollen – the ‘Wembley’ of cross-country skiing and gateway to the huge ‘Nordmarka’ sking area. Known for its distinctive local architecture and fine dining, Lysebu is unique; first built in 1916 and now owned by the Fund for Danish-Norwegian Cooperation who support scholarships and cultural exchanges between the 2 countries. Sustainability is at the heart of Lysebu, they have been a proud Eco-Lighthouse since 2012 and continuously work towards more environmentally friendly operations.

The hotel is set on the mountainside overlooking Oslo and the mighty Oslofjord which is only 30 minutes away by tram. With potentially unlimited skiing on the doorstep, opportunities to go tobogganing, visit the famous Holmenkollen Ski Jump, Museum and Ski Stadium, and the unforgettable Rose Castle, combined with the quality associated with a Wildtrack Nordic Holiday, an experience at Lysebu is a must.

Dining

Lysebu, Oslo, Norway.

At Lysebu’s acclaimed restaurant you dine surrounded by the forest, with breathtaking views right through the windows, creating the perfect backdrop for enjoying a dinner, lunch or breakfast.

The cuisine is rooted in traditional Norwegian and Danish food culture, with a strong focus on seasonal, locally sourced, and sustainable ingredients. Fresh Norwegian fish, carefully selected meats, and house-made waffles are prepared with produce from Lysebu’s own herb and vegetable gardens whenever possible. Even the honey comes from our own hives — a truly local touch that captures the flavor of the surrounding forest.
