There are few places where winter feels as complete as Lapland. Levi Spirit – Lapland Classic Escape is a luxury beginner cross-country skiing holiday designed for couples, families, friends and private groups seeking a refined Arctic experience. Supportive coaching, small-group learning and scenic daily journeys help guests build confidence whilst discovering the rhythm of Nordic skiing.

Accommodation is based at Levi Spirit Villas, a collection of luxury private chalets surrounded by forest on the edge of Levi. Spacious living areas, private saunas, fireplaces and elegant Nordic interiors create an exclusive retreat where guests can relax, unwind and enjoy the comforts of Arctic winter living.

The Levi region offers beautifully prepared trails through forests, frozen lakes and rolling fell landscapes, creating an ideal environment for learning and exploration. Gentle terrain supports steady progression, while the surrounding wilderness and optional Arctic experiences make Levi one of Finland's most memorable winter destinations.

Morning Session (09:00 – 11:00) 

Fundamental skill development with a supportive coaching approach designed specifically for beginner skiers. 

Afternoon Session (14:00 – 16:00) 

Gentle skiing journeys through forest trails and Arctic landscapes — linking movements together and building confidence naturally. 

Evening 

Relaxed downtime in your luxury chalet with sauna and hot tub, whilst your private chef prepares your evening meal. Opportunities to experience the atmosphere of Lapland winter nights. 

Levi Spirit - Lapland Classic Escape Itinerary

Your guide will meet you in the arrivals hall at Kittilä Airport, where the group transfer will depart at 16:00. The journey to Levi Spirit takes approximately 30 minutes. Guests travelling outside the recommended transfer window may be able to arrange alternative transfers at additional cost. Please contact us before booking flights if you would like guidance on suitable travel options.  

 Arrive at the exclusive surroundings of Levi Spirit and settle into your private chalet, surrounded by the forests and winter landscapes of Finnish Lapland. Take time to relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere before meeting your fellow guests.  

This evening, enjoy a welcome briefing and dinner as we introduce the week ahead and the experiences that await.  

Each day begins with simple coaching sessions focused on balance, movement, glide, and control. Using easy-to-follow exercises, you'll build confidence and develop the foundations of classic skiing.  

As the week progresses, you'll link these skills together on gentle, groomed trails. Short journeys provide opportunities to practise techniques in a relaxed and supportive environment.  

By the end of the week, you'll be skiing comfortably on a variety of beginner-friendly terrain, with the confidence and skills to continue your cross-country skiing journey.  

The final day follows a beautiful journey through the forests, frozen waterways, and winter landscapes surrounding Levi and the Ounasjoki River valley. Designed to showcase the quieter side of Finnish Lapland, the route combines rewarding skiing with opportunities to appreciate the vastness and tranquillity of the Arctic wilderness.  

Travelling through peaceful forest trails and open winter landscapes, guests enjoy a relaxed and memorable day on skis whilst reflecting on the experiences of the week. The emphasis is not on challenge, but on enjoying the journey, the scenery, and the unique atmosphere that makes Lapland such a special place to visit.  

Returning to Levi Spirit for one final evening, guests can relax in the comfort of their private chalet, enjoy exceptional hospitality, and reflect on a week that has combined Nordic skiing, luxury, and wilderness in equal measure.  

For many guests, this final journey becomes a fitting celebration of everything that makes the Levi Spirit experience unique.  

The group departure transfer will leave Levi Spirit at 08:30, arriving at Kittilä Airport at approximately 09:00. Guests travelling outside the recommended transfer window may be able to arrange alternative transfers at additional cost. Please enquire in advance for further information.

Dining at Levi Spirit is one of the defining highlights of the holiday. Throughout your stay, every breakfast, lunch, and evening meal is freshly prepared by your private chef, allowing you to relax and enjoy exceptional cuisine without leaving the comfort of the luxury villa.

Using the finest seasonal ingredients, the chef creates a carefully curated menu inspired by the flavours of Finnish Lapland, combining Nordic traditions with contemporary culinary flair. Accommodation

Wildtrack guests stay within exclusive luxury villas based on four couples sharing a private villa. Contemporary Nordic interiors, natural materials and large windows create a stylish and welcoming retreat surrounded by Arctic scenery. 

Each couple enjoys a private ensuite bedroom, while spacious shared living areas, fireplaces and thoughtfully designed social spaces create a warm and memorable atmosphere. Private saunas and outdoor hot tubs complete the experience, providing the perfect place to relax after active days outdoors. 

Levi Spirit has been designed exclusively for couples sharing private luxury chalets. As a result, single occupancy accommodation is not available on this holiday.

Wellness

After a day outdoors, guests can unwind in private wellness facilities designed for relaxation and recovery. Traditional Finnish sauna culture forms an important part of the Levi Spirit experience, creating the perfect environment to recharge after skiing. 

Each villa includes a private Finnish sauna and either an outdoor or indoor hot tub, allowing guests to fully embrace the tranquillity of their Arctic surroundings. Spacious lounge areas and fireplaces complete the experience, creating a warm and inviting retreat after a day on the trails.

Useful Trip Information

The main meeting point for your holiday is Rovaniemi Airport, Finland, one of the principal gateways to Finnish Lapland, with direct seasonal connections from the UK and convenient year-round connections via Helsinki.

We are pleased to offer a bespoke transfer service, with your guide for the trip meeting you in the arrivals hall. We will operate one scheduled transfer from Rovaniemi Airport, departing at 18:00. The journey to the Ylläs region takes approximately two hours.

For departure, the transfer will leave the hotel at approximately 05:00, arriving at Rovaniemi Airport at approximately 07:00 for onward flights.

Kittilä Airport is also available as a flexible arrival and departure option. Due to its close proximity to Ylläs, we are able to offer greater flexibility with Kittilä transfer times wherever possible. If flights to or from Kittilä are more convenient for your journey, please contact us before booking so we can coordinate your transfer.

Please ensure your flights are compatible with the scheduled Rovaniemi transfer times before booking and contact your guide as soon as possible if your flight is delayed.The meeting point for your holiday is Kittilä Airport, Finland, the main gateway to Finnish Lapland and the closest airport for accessing the Ylläs region. We are pleased to offer a group transfer service, with your guide for the week meeting you in the arrivals hall upon arrival.

From January to April, Levi experiences classic Arctic winter conditions with cold temperatures, reliable snowfall and a long snow season, creating excellent conditions for cross-country skiing. January is typically the coldest month, with average temperatures ranging from approximately -15°C to -8°C (5°F to 18°F) and regular snowfall creating a true winter wilderness atmosphere.

February and March remain consistently snowy, with cold, crisp days and increasing daylight hours providing ideal skiing conditions. By April, longer days and the first signs of spring arrive, with temperatures typically ranging between -6°C and 3°C (21°F to 37°F), while snow conditions often remain excellent for late-season skiing. 

Breakfast is served each morning with a selection of options to prepare you for a day on the trails, including the opportunity to make a packed lunch. Dining at Levi Spirit is enhanced by a private chef experience, creating a more intimate and personalised approach throughout your stay.

Lunch is served as a three-course meal, offering a relaxed opportunity to refuel and enjoy high-quality cuisine, while evening meals are also served as a three-course experience showcasing seasonal ingredients, Nordic flavours and regional specialities inspired by Finnish Lapland. Together, they create an authentic dining experience with a premium and personal touch. 

Vegetarian and vegan options are available, and most dietary requirements can be catered for, including gluten-free, dairy-free, nut allergies, shellfish allergies and egg-free diets. Please advise us at the time of booking so arrangements can be made.  

Activity level: Leisurely

Low pace, low pressure, but still physically active.

Our Leisurely holidays are ideal for beginners and those seeking a relaxed introduction to cross-country skiing. Days are taken at an unhurried pace, with regular coaching, frequent breaks and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the surrounding landscape. Whilst these holidays place fewer physical demands on guests than our other experiences, cross-country skiing remains an active sport and you should expect to spend several hours on snow each day.

Skiing experience: Beginner

No previous experience required.

Beginner holidays are designed for guests who are completely new to cross-country skiing or have very limited experience. You will learn the fundamental techniques from the ground up, including balance, movement, climbing, descending, stopping and turning, within a relaxed and supportive coaching environment

Luggage 

We kindly ask that you travel with a maximum of 1 piece of hold luggage and 2 pieces of hand luggage, as storage space in the transfer vehicle is limited. When packing for a winter holiday in the mountains, it is important to bring suitable clothing and equipment to ensure you remain comfortable in changing weather and snow conditions. 

Ski Equipment 

We will provide skis, boots and poles selected according to your height, weight, shoe size and technical ability, ensuring equipment is matched appropriately for comfort, performance and enjoyment throughout your holiday. 

Personal Equipment to Bring 

Please ensure you bring the following items for comfort during your holiday: 

Rucksack – A 15–20 litre day pack with waist and chest straps, suitable for carrying water, snacks and additional warm or waterproof clothing while out on the trails. 
1 litre water container – Please note that hydration system tubes can often freeze in winter conditions, so a standard water bottle or insulated container is recommended. 

Additional items 

Sunscreen, sunglasses, small thermos for hot drinks, head torch and footwear suitable for icy conditions 

General Clothing 

We recommend bringing suitable winter clothing to ensure you remain comfortable in changing mountain and skiing conditions: 

Jackets: Waterproof jacket, fleece or windproof gilet/waistcoat, and a down or insulated jacket (or an additional warm outer layer). 
Trousers: Nordic ski trousers that are lightweight, windproof, warm and ideally form fitting. Waterproof trousers are optional for additional protection. 
Tops: Long-sleeved thermal base layer and a lightweight long-sleeved fleece or mid-layer. 
Accessories: Two pairs of gloves (one lightweight and one insulated), over-mittens for colder days if desired, a warm hat, headband or buff/scarf, and medium-thickness socks. 

Your insurance responsibilities

These are described in detail within the Insurance Information. As an overview you must have adequate insurance that covers you for:

  • Medical expenses and repatriation in the event of medical need 

  • Mountain Rescue, apart from Norway where it is free 

  • Cancellation or curtailment of arrangements as a result of circumstances outside of your control (including accident or illness and inability to travel for other reasons) 

  • Personal accident risks, covering injury, illness or death

  • Personal liability 

  • Personal effects and money 

You must provide us with the name of your travel insurer, policy number and insurer’s emergency contact number 6 weeks before your holiday by updating the information in your account, which can be accessed via the members area of the website.

You should purchase insurance at the time of booking to protect payments made towards a trip that does not take place for any reason.

Our insurance responsibilities

Should Wildtrack Nordic become insolvent or cease to trade, your initial deposit and any other monies paid towards your trip are fully protected. Details of the policy and underwriter are included in the Insurance Information document.

Wildtrack Nordic does not have any responsibility to insure:

  • Your flights and any other travel apart from the free shuttle from and to the airport as part of your trip

  • Your belongings

  • Your equipment, if you are using your own

The requirements for your official documentation can be found at Clause 16 of our Booking Terms and Conditions, but in summary: 

  • Passports: you will need a valid passport; many countries require 6+ months’ validity beyond your return date 

  • Visas: you will need to confirm the requirements early and ensure you have at least one blank page in your passport
