Refine the Details

Trail Craft is a flexible cross-country skiing development holiday for skiers ready to refine their classic technique, skate technique, or both. Throughout the week, you’ll be coached by 5 time Winter Olympian Andrew Musgrave alongside Wildtrack Nordic founders Tom Clemens and Lee-Steve Jackson.

Together, your three coaches bring experience from Olympic competition, international racing and years of helping skiers develop. The programme is shaped around your goals: focused technical clinics help you understand what will improve your skiing, while guided mountain journeys give you the chance to put it into practice.

Your home for the week is Pellestova Hotel, a historic mountain retreat overlooking the forests and trails of the Lillehammer region. Comfortable accommodation, exceptional dining and authentic Norwegian hospitality create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, providing the perfect place to relax after rewarding days on snow.

Pellestova offers direct access to one of Norway's most extensive cross-country skiing networks. Snow-covered forests, rolling mountain terrain and more than 600 kilometres of groomed trails create an exceptional environment for refining technique, building versatility and developing the confidence to ski efficiently across a wide variety of terrain.

Trail Craft, the Complete Skier with Andrew Musgrave Itinerary

Arrive at Oslo Airport where you will be met by Lee Jackson your Wildtrack Nordic guide. Our complimentary group transfer departs the airport at 15:00, travelling approximately 2 hours north through Norway's winter landscapes to Pellestova in the mountains above Lillehammer.

After settling into the hotel, there is time to relax and enjoy your first evening in Norway before joining Andrew, Lee and Tom and fellow guests for a welcome dinner and briefing.

The evening provides an opportunity to discuss your skiing background, identify personal goals and begin shaping the week ahead. Throughout the week, guests will benefit from the experience and insight of coaches who have competed at the highest levels of international cross-country skiing, including Olympic competition. Whether your focus is classic skiing, skate skiing, climbing efficiency, downhill confidence or simply becoming a more adaptable skier, Trail Craft is designed around helping you achieve meaningful progression.

Each day follows a flexible structure designed around the goals, priorities and interests of the group.

Morning clinics provide focused technical coaching in both classic and skate skiing, with all 3 Olympians available throughout the week. Sessions are shaped around the areas guests most want to improve, whether that's glide efficiency, weight transfer, climbing technique, downhill confidence, skate transitions, double poling or skiing adaptability across changing terrain and snow conditions.

Afternoons offer the choice of longer guided mountain journeys or additional technical coaching sessions, allowing guests to balance mileage, exploration and skill development according to their own objectives. Skiers can choose to immerse themselves in technique development, enjoy longer mountain adventures, or combine the two throughout the week.

Small coaching groups ensure meaningful individual feedback and personalised support, while optional video analysis and Olympic-level coaching insight help guests develop a deeper understanding of efficient skiing across a wide range of terrain and conditions.

The culmination of the week.

Guests can choose between a longer guided mountain journey through the spectacular Nordseter and Nevelfjell trail network or continue refining specific technical priorities through additional coaching sessions.

Whether your goal is greater efficiency, increased confidence, improved endurance, technical mastery or simply becoming a more adaptable skier, today provides an opportunity to bring together everything developed throughout the week. It is a fitting conclusion to a week dedicated to refining the details and becoming a more capable and complete skier.

Following a final breakfast, we leave Pellestova at 08:00, arriving at Oslo Airport at approximately 10:00.

As your journey home begins, you'll leave with refined technique, greater confidence and a deeper understanding of how to ski efficiently across a wide range of terrain and conditions. More importantly, you'll leave with the knowledge, insight and tools to continue progressing long after the week has finished.
